Proprioception - Improving your dog's body awareness

Proprioception - so what is all the fuss about?

Have you heard about proprioception and wondered what all the fuss is about?

Do you wish your dog had better balance?
Do they seem to lack hind end awareness?
Do you think they are clumsy?
D they struggle to jump in or out of the car?
Are they a competition dog and knocking poles or are slow?
Do you have an ex-racing greyhound that has no idea what they are doing with their legs and feet?
Then this workshop is for you and your dog!

🐶How will it benefit me and my dog?🐶

Through using proprioceptive training we can teach our dogs to be more bodily aware which will:
🐾 improve their balance
🐾 increase flexibility
🐾 build their strength
🐾 boost motor skills
🐾 improve speed and accuracy in sports
🐾 enhance free movement in the ring

This is important for ALL dogs, older dogs, youngsters, pet dogs, competition and working dogs, they will all benefit from improved proprioception.

The proprioceptive system is responsible for many things in the body, it allows us and our dogs to be aware of where our body is in space without having to look at it. It is also important in many everyday movements, such aswalking up a step, but also the more complex movements, such as jumping over a jump. By influencing it through a variety of equipment, we can improve your dog’s co-ordination, balance, muscle strength, flexibility, self-confidence, focus, the bond between you and your dog and endurance.

This three hour workshop will be fun and informative. Equipment can be moved/altered for different dogs needs. Your dog needs to be physically fit and relaxed around other dogs and people to attend. If your dog would find this environment difficult, please contact Rachel to arrange a one-to-one consultation. Dogs shall remain on lead throughout this workshop.
